Deep water barefoot start?
I tried to barefoot last summer and I could only stay up for a couple of seconds. I used a kneeboard sitting down on it, then I put my feet down to go, I was wondering if this is the best way to deepwater start, or should I use a wakeboard maybe? If you could provide some advice or tutorial links that would be great!
Also, should I wear a life jacket? I would like to do the surface spins and stuff, but I believe the life jacket would get in the way. Should I wear a life jacket under a bigger wetsuit? or not wear one at all, but then if I get knocked out I'm screwed.
Without kneeboard: arch your back, head under water, with feet crossed on the rope. Ride on your shoulders until you can ride on your butt, put your feet down and stand up.
With kneeboard: keep your feet in front of you, pinch the board between your knees, and use the board to ride up on until you can stand.
Most barefooters wear padded wetsuits.
